This is a well-sewn cotton pouch that fulfills its purpose. Before our trip to France, we were warned a lot about pickpockets, so I decided to get this--and I did read the reviews.So this is a cotton knit pouch. It's big enough to hold several credit cards and/or similar cards (driver's license, I had a plastic metro pass for Paris, dollar/Euro bills, etc.). Although it is stretchy, it won't hold a passport. But...why would you want that hanging from your bra anyway? We were advised to put our passports in the hotel safe, NOT to carry them with us.Being cotton knit, it is not waterproof. If it's hot/humid outside, you will likely sweat on it. I really didn't find this to be an issue, but I also wasn't worried about anything I had in the pouch getting wet. The pouch dried quickly enough.I did not use this on my bra. It has a plastic holder to fit on your bra, but I didn't want to do that. It has a loop (the part that would encompass the width of the bra strap), and I put a safety pin through the loop, and safety-pinned the pouch inside my clothing. It worked well that way along a seam in a shirt--I could just lift the edge up a little--or in my pants pocket (though I worried about pickpockets when our program director--who is French--also warned us about it, so I stopped pinning it there after a few days). I also pinned it at my neck, and that worked pretty well (but I wouldn't use such a big safety pin next time--the head of it showed sometimes if the neck seam was narrow). Anyway--I'm trying to say that you don't have to use it on a bra.So: I understand why some reviewers wanted it to be waterproof--but that would really feel awful against your skin. This was soft and easy to forget I had it on--I'd have to double-check by patting the front of my shirt to feel it underneath.I washed it after our trip & it is good as new. This was a great purchase!
